What is a Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB)?

Redirecting Children's Behavior is strongly influenced by the work of Rudolf Dreikurs, MD., author of the highly acclaimed book "Children: The Challenge". The course was developed by Kathryn Kvols author of the book "Redirecting Children's Behavior" and founder of The International Network for Children and Families (INCAF). All Redirecting Children's Behavior instructors are certified by the International Network for Children and Families. This course contains over 100 proven parenting methods for improving behavior while enhancing your child's self-esteem.

Objectives:

Redirecting Children’s Behavior is a powerful course that teaches practical behavioral management skills so participants can reduce their stress levels. This course provides a specific set of tools and techniques for handling everyday situations with children. Participants will learn how to encourage children to take responsibility for their own behavior; and how to promote cooperation. The ultimate goal is to create more enjoyment and fun in the relationship between the participant and the child. Participants will help children develop skills to become loving, motivated and successful adults.

  • Handle Power Struggles
  • Eliminate Arguing and Debating
  • Use Consequences that Work
  • Handle Sibling Rivalry

  • Promote agreement with your spouse

• Parents expecting or having children of any age,

What is the structure of the course?
Five classes are held once a week for 2.5 hours for a total of 12.5 hours of instruction or 2 hours once a weeks for 6 weeks. This allows adequate time to practice and master the concepts and methods. Weekly goals are set for each participant. Problems and successes are shared in a warm supportive environment.

RCB Lectures

Living At Peace RCB Lectures are perfect for preschools, mom's clubs, corporations, religious organizations and PTA organizations. This talk may be presented during the day or evening and is one to two hours in length. Living At Peace will provide specific interventions that participants can do to enhance their relationship with their children and do away with many of the power struggles. Their will be many demonstrations of how to handle particular situations so parents will leave with more tools in their parenting toolbox.

Family Support Group

There is a vast amount of information contained in the Redirecting Children's Behavior Parent (RCB) course. After taking the course, many parents find that they are only able to use some of the information. As the weeks and months pass, people often find themselves forgetting what they learned in the course and slipping back into their old patterns with their children.

The Family Support Group is designed to help strengthen the skills you learned in the RCB course. The support group meets at the groups convience. This class is for RCB graduates only.
